Writing tips for your paragraphs Use smaller sentences.
If you use "and", "but", "also", "because" instead of starting a new sentence - STOP IT!
Create that new sentence - it gets you another 3 points!
Make sure your nouns and verbs agree:
     I seen spot run. (incorrect)
     I saw spot ran. (incorrect)
     I seen spot ran. (incorrect)
     I saw spot run. (correct)
Make sure you watch your verb tense in your paragraph.  When talking of events that happened in the past - use past tense:
     Bessie went
     Sadie said
     Back then
     In the 1900's
     Now a days
     They would go
Watch contractions - use the spelled out version when writing if possible:
     don't - do not
     doesn't - does not
     you're - you are
     it's - it is
     haven't - have not
Watch words that sound the same but have different meanings:
     there - their
     your - you're
     write - right
     are - our
     sense - since
     fill - feel
     herd - heard
Watch for words that aren't really words:
tuff is not a word - the correct word is tough
Watch your possessive words - use the phrase "belonging to" to help you figure out if you need to make a noun possessive.  For example, its is the possessive for "belonging to it".
Do not end a sentence with a preposition (of, for, that, with, etc.)
Watch where you put your commas - Read the sentence aloud. If you naturally pause put a comma there.
